My wish to create the Cello Fysio Studio comes from a very simple but deep will to share the experience of my journey of my profound postural change. I did grow with a lot and constant physical pain and injuries since the age of eight. Those not only coming from cello playing, sure. But as well from it, for sure.

My insights can be useful for people who would need help to find their own  “physiologically right” way of playing their instrument.

In my case, the Joe Pilates Mat workout made a complete reset of my body. Thanks to my instructor Ann van Huffel who apply the Classic Pilates with care and lucidity. Adapting and changing my relation on my cello, which was on my own research, was a deep, long, difficult but so rewarding process that I’m very happy now if, with experience on this process, I can help musicians through the practice of Pilates Mat and the adaptation of those exercises, breathing ones, alignments, re-programming the muscles, on the instrument, to find their balance, strength, flexibility and freedom back.

A good diagnostic by a good doctor is a starting point in case of pain. I won’t have been able to reach this point of health without my doctors, physiotherapists, Alexander technique teachers and chiropractors, met during those six years of deep postural changes. Pilates workout made what I became now. Anyway, it’s very important to mention that the health professionals should be around you during this challenge that a postural workout is. Being myself a daughter of two doctors, no doubt I have to mention this!
